Inspection Report

Headmaster, Mr John Watson writes about our most recent Inspection Report:

'I am delighted to offer a copy of the Inspection Report on Bablake School for download. It speaks for itself in portraying and affirming the school we all know as a flourishing and happy academic community.

The inspectors conducted a thorough appraisal of the school, both prior to their visit, and during the inspection itself. I believe that they recognised the numerous and diverse strengths of Bablake, in addition to giving us some helpful pointers as we strive to give our young people the best possible start in life.

I hope that you will take the time to read the whole, very comprehensive report. Its findings are summarised towards the end, where it is recognised that “Bablake School meets its clear aims confidently and with assurance. It provides for its pupils an outstanding educational experience. It constitutes a happy community of successful learners, engaged in a wide variety of activities.”

You will also read that “weaknesses are few and partial, and they are already largely recognised by the school”. You will recall that we consulted extensively in 2007, and this has enabled us to plan for future improvement. We have therefore already identified the chief aspects outlined in ‘Next Steps’, and are aspiring by various means towards “still greater intellectual challenge…..to enable more independent and exciting learning by all”. We shall never become complacent as a school, as there will always be ways in which we can refine and improve the education and opportunities which we provide.

You will note that “the quality of the school’s links with parents and the community is outstanding”. Much of this is, of course, to your credit, and I am grateful to you for working with us to support, motivate and inspire your child.

Do feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss any aspect of the report. Happy reading!'
