Warwick Castle Delights Our Shell Pupils

Trips & Visits History

Our Shell pupils, traditionally, visit Warwick Castle every September to help bring their History course alive.

2014 was no different, and Alex Cox and Gregory Innes from Shell G have kindly sent the Newsroom a report and photographs of their day.

Alex wrote: 'Excitement was in the air as the Shells toured Warwick Castle. From learning about the ancient families Warwick housed, to ancient Norman defence mechanisms, we had a full taste of what the castle had to offer. The trebuchet had to be the most enjoyable part!

The bowman showed off his archery skills and his impersonation of Robin Hood. The dungeon gave everyone the creeps! We also had an intellectually challenging booklet to fill in, that required us to use our understanding of Warwick Castle.

My form, Shell G, had much fine in the pillory, with Harvey and Oliver stuck in it! Overall, Warwick Castle was a successful and fantastic day out!'

Thank you to Alex and Gregory for sending us the materials for this story! We are, of course, always very pleased to publish pupils' accounts of their school life.
