Bablake And Scotland Say No!

Current Affairs

As news filters in of a narrow victory for those voting against Scottish independence from the UK, we can reveal the results of the Bablake Polling Station that was open yesterday lunchtime.

Mrs Amanda Jones (Head of Shells) delivered an excellent assembly on democracy and the Scottish referendum earlier this term for our Junior pupils. She then invited them to do more reading on the issues involved and vote yesterday.

There was a landslide defeat for Mr Salmond, as Bablake voted to maintain the current status quo with 83% supporting the 'No' campaign. Just 17% of our Junior pupils felt that Scotland would benefit from independence from the UK.

Thank you to Mrs Jones for promoting such fervent debate on this issue among our pupils.
