Spectacular Shell Spellathon

News and Features House Events

Mr Matthew Rushton (Second in English) reports on the buzz of excitement at the recent conclusion of our 'Spelling Bee' competition for Shells:

'Last week saw the culmination, for our Shell pupils, of another thrilling edition of the 'Spelling Bee' competition. Following their efforts in both the preliminary round and intra-house final, two representatives from each house competed in the grand final. Bayley was the first house to fall, closely followed by Wheatley. It was left to Crow and Fairfax to fight it out for glory. Despite the best efforts of Zara Richards (Fairfax), it was Grace Fisher (Crow) who ultimately took the spoils.

The English department would like to extend its thanks to the House Heads for supporting the tournament. It was also pleasing to see a crowd of enthusiastic Shell pupils supporting their respective Houses. We look forward to another exciting competition in 2016 and we cannot wait to see if Crow can retain its 'Spelling Bee' crown.'
