U6th EPQ Candidates Excel

Four of our U6th pupils, who have been involved with the Extended Project Qualification, delivered a professional lecture that would have graced the halls of some of the UK's top universities.

Ellie Morris, Georgia Powell, Beth Rowland and Maneesha Sehgal delivered a 10 minute synopsis of their research project before answering searching questions from a gathered audience of over 60 parents, pupils, staff and academics from local universities.

The majority of the other 12 pupils who also completed the EPQ this year, working closely with staff supervisors and other academics, were also in attendance to talk about their projects, since there was an excellent display of work in the EDM foyer and Rehearsal Room.

Mrs Alison Tumber, Head of 6th Form, was not the only member of the audience to leave the evening, in her own words, 'humbled, inspired and very proud'.

Head of Careers Mr Mark Woodward commented: 'Mr Julian Bunce, EPQ coordinator, is to be congratulated on organising a very thought-provoking and professional evening. I forgot the 4 pupils who spoke at the event were just 17 and 18- the way they presented their material was stunning and they answered probing questions with consummate ease.'
