1st VII Bows Out At West Midlands Round

Netball Sports

An afternoon of mixed weather- glorious sunshine, driving rain, biting gales and spirit-sapping drizzle- matched the emotions of our 1st VII Netball squad as it exited the 2015 Nationals by the narrowest of margins, namely 0.03 of a goal across five fixtures.

Exciting wins against Wrekin College and Bishop Vesey's Grammar School, who both qualified for the next stage of the afternoon's competition, as well as an confidence-boosting first game win versus Hereford Cathedral School had raised expectations of a possible trip to Liverpool for the 2015 Nationals later this month.

While the narrowest of single goal defeats against Bromsgrove and Wolverhampton Grammar left the squad deflated, the girls should hold their heads high and reflect on the excellent netball they played in each of the games at the weekend, as well as Warwickshire champions.
