Canadian Tourists Run U17s Close

This week Bablake's U17s entertained a touring rugby side from Canada's South Delta Secondary School and ran in 21-15 winners thanks to Chimdi Ogbuneke's hat-trick of tries and Matt Bird's three conversions.

Head of Boys' PE and 1st XV coach Mr Rob Burdett commented: 'It is always a fantastic experience to play against a team from a different country and Tuesday's match was no exception. South Delta, whose main sport is American Football, brought a very physical game and also possessed a great deal of pace.

I thought Bablake defended extremely well for the majority of the game and created three very good opportunities that were well finished by Chimdi Ogbuneke. There are clearly many things to work on with this group of players, but they have a great deal of talent and we look forward to seeing how they perform next season.'
