Further Help For The Revision Road- (3) Mr Richard Sewell (Head of Economics and Business Studies)

Examinations Business Studies

In the next of our series of help with revision, in response to freelance journalist Russ Thorne's research for an i paper article, Head of Economics and Business Studies Mr Richard Sewell offered the following advice:

  • Pupils can manage their stress over the Easter revision period by prioritising, planning and pro-actively consulting resources. They can use a notebook to list topics or concepts they don’t understand for each subject, module or teacher.
  • They should not underestimate the value of reading the text books issued and if they are still struggling with topics, then it is vital to make a list and seek assistance upon return to school on Wednesday 22nd April.
  • Learning is above all else an intrinsically personal thing. It may be frustrating, but it is not unusual to find you can understand what someone tells you although find it hard to apply that knowledge and fully understand it straightaway. Do your very best, but be reassured that, while the final grades are crucial for current university offers, results alone do not define a student for life!
