Much has been happening in our Main School Library in the run up to the festive season.
Eager readers Emma Blackett and Fiona Chung were each delighted winners of a beautifully illustrated hardback copy of JK Rowling's 'Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone'. The timeless appeal of this author was very apparent as over 100 pupils from the Shells all the way through to our Upper Sixth entered the 'Harry Potter' quiz run by our librarians. Since over 20 people scored full marks, Headmaster Mr John Watson was asked to draw the two winners.
While many pupils were busily involved in lunchtime craft workshops making Christmas cards during the final weeks of term, visitors to the Library were all being encouraged to take part in our Christmas Reading Challenge. Our avid readers are being asked to read three books of any genre over the holiday period, list the books read, rate them on a five star scale and review his or her favourite one. We look forward to hearing more about the results of this excellent initiative at the start of 2016.
