U14 Girls Triumphant In Coventry Schools Trophy Clash

Senior School Sport

Our U14 girls are proud winners of the Coventry Schools Trophy after defeating local rivals KHVIII 4-0 last night.

Proud Bablake coach Miss Laura Watts (Girls' PE) was delighted with a commanding performance from her team. With injury and illness affecting the squad, three players had been promoted from the U13 team and they all enjoyed the cut and thrust of 11-a-side cup hockey.

2-0 up at half time, two more goals, including a fine sweep from Sophie Arora in the latter stages of the game, ensured the trophy was heading back to Bablake. Other goalscorers included Emma Allroggen and captain Jess Horton, who both scored from well planned short corners.

Meanwhile on the adjacent astro pitch, our U15s sadly suffered a reverse of fortune. 2015 winners against KHVIII on penalty flicks, the team was on the wrong side of the same outcome after open play finished 0-0.
