Former Pupil Ameena's Amazing Henna Designs

Old Wheatleyans Art

One of the most popular aspects of the last two years' Diwali Festival celebrations at Bablake have been the henna stalls run by our talented and creative Sixth Formers.

For one former pupil from the Class of 2005 Ameena Tahir - now a final year Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience undergraduate at the University of Nottingham, considering a Master's in Mental Health - her outstanding, striking mehndi henna designs have moved from being a hobby into a fledgling business.

Self-taught as a henna artist but making good use of the artistic talent she displayed when at Bablake, Ameena is quietly making a name for herself with her impressive designs, which unsurprisingly have been particularly popular for weddings and festival celebrations.

To discover more about Ameena's artistry, 'Henna by Ameena' may be viewed online via Instagram and Facebook.
