DT Teacher Prepares For 100 Mile Charity Bike Ride

Senior School Charity

Design Technology teacher Mr Peter Nicholson is making final preparations for an ambitious charity bike ride later this month (Sunday 31st July) in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

He has entered the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, which will involve cycling 100 miles through London and into the Surrey hills. The first challenge for Mr Nicholson was to become 'bike fit' again, so for a lot of the summer term, he completed his daily commute by bike. The fundraiser is also 40 miles further than his previous longest charity bike ride, which was completed in 2014 when he confesses he "was much fitter!"

Not only has his fundraising proved painful in training on the bike, but he also arranged a well-supported sponsored 'leg wax' at Bablake last term.

We wish Mr Nicholson all the very best for this venture, and if you wish to discover more about his fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK, please click here.
