Congratulations to a small group of GCSE students who have spent the early part of the summer break working towards a Silver Industrial Cadets award.
Sam Lowe, Matthew Needham and Jakevir Shoker took part in an EDT Skills Camp which gave them an excellent insight into design and engineeering processes.
Working alongside MTC apprentices, our students gained excellent experience of teamwork, the professional working world, communication skills used in employment, project management, working towards and meeting deadlines, using initiative, and developing practical technical skills.
We are certain that, after their experience of the EDT Skills Camp, Jakevir, Matthew and Sam will appreciate even more just how much these key skills are valued by universities and apprentice / graduate employers in their respective applicants. They now hold a distinct advantage over their competitors and we are sure they will maintain this in their time in our Sixth Form.
Our thanks go to the Engineering Development Trust for offering this super opportunity.
