Bablake School announces another year of excellent A Level results.
A Level Results Summary
Star student Matthew Rowlands achieved a remarkable 5 A*s, as well as an A in his Extended Project Qualification, and will read Law at Magdalene College, Cambridge. He was one of 17 students to gain an A* or A grade in History and one of 41 in Mathematics. Among other Oxbridge successes, student Anna Knight achieved 4 A*s and will read Mathematics at St Anne’s College, Oxford and Chris Tuttle, with 3 A*s and 1 A, is off to read Medicine at Selwyn College, Cambridge.
Results in STEM subjects have been particularly impressive, with students taking up places at prestigious universities to study Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine. This is highlighted by School Captain Tom Betts’ 4 A*s which allow him to head to top Russell Group university, Bristol, to read Mechanical Engineering.
Headmaster, Mr John Watson, said: ‘We are very pleased that hard work and ambition have again been rewarded with strong results. Our blend of inspiring teaching, attentive pastoral support and all-round opportunities nurtures generous and naturally confident young people with exciting futures.’
Top A level performances 2016
Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Alison Tumber, said: ‘I am very proud of all of our Sixth Form students for what they have achieved, not just on paper, but in their wider school life. They have extremely bright futures ahead of them and it has been a pleasure to see them grow into such successful young adults.’
