Valete 2015- 16: (14) Mrs Lynda Jackson (Religious Studies)

Senior School Staff

The final member of staff to bid farewell to at the end of the 2015- 16 academic year has devoted 21 years to Bablake.

Mrs Lynda Jackson's 21 years' the service to our school began as a part-time teacher of Religious Education in 1995. Since then, she has taught throughout the age-ranges, and has been Head of Bayley House and a Sixth Form Tutor.

She became Head of PSHCE in 2001 and worked tirelessly to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of our programme, which has recently been renamed Life Choices. Mrs Jackson has led numerous school assemblies, particularly at Remembrance time, and organised the poignant and often life-changing Beth Shalom visits.

Mrs Jackson led our Amnesty International group, contributed fully to Community Service and provided vibrant floral arrangements across the campus, especially for formal occasions.

With the support of pupils, she prepared our successful application for recognition as an International Cross of Nails School, a symbol that underpins our community’s focus on peace and reconciliation.

We wish Mrs Jackson a tremendous retirement, one we are absolutely confident will be spent in the main doting on her much-cherished grandchildren.
