Reflective Day For Bablake's Third Year Pupils

Senior School Religious Studies

Bablake's Third year pupils made their annual visit to the National Holocaust Centre and Museum today.

Visits to 'Beth Shalom' near Newark have an overwhelming impact on all our pupils and the staff privileged to accompany them, especially in the afternoon session when everyone listens to the account of a survivor from the World War II concentration camps.

This year, Bablake Chaplain Reverend Sacha Slavic wrote of his visit: "It was such a privilege to listen to Iby Knill, a holocaust survivor and author. At 94, she taught us to live in the present, learn from the past and not worry about the future."

He also reported that she passed on two significant messages; first to remember that under the skin we are all the same and secondly that everyone is able to make a difference.

We look forward to hearing the reaction of our pupils to this year's visit.
