Exciting Exclusive For Scholastic Book Fair

Old Wheatleyans Library

We have exciting news, for fans of former pupil and author Lauren James, which is linked to our forthcoming Scholastic Book Fair.

Scholastic has commissioned a special edition of her second novel 'The Last Beginning', which includes at the end ‘Another Together‘, her short story set at Bletchley Park. This edition will be available at our book fair during 2016's Reading Week which will take place immediately after half term.

Head Librarian Mrs Julie Needham said recently about the Book Fair: "Once again we will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair in the Main Library from Monday 7th November until Friday 11th November. Our Book Fairs are always very well supported and pupils enjoy browsing through the wide selection of books, stationery and posters on display. In past years, commission raised from the book fairs has resulted in many new books for the Library. We’re hoping this year will prove to be well supported too, while the news that an exclusive edition of Lauren James' book will be on sale is tremendously exciting.

We have given out leaflets during library lessons and pupils may pick up copies from the library, if they need to, while there will also be a supply in the School Office for parents, just in case the pupils' copies don’t make their way home! Pupils will have the opportunity to view and buy books during school time and parents are welcome after school, as the Library is open until 5pm each evening. Please enter via Reception.

We look forward to seeing you during Book Fair Week!"

Not only will the book fair be an exciting way to begin Reading Week, but there is now the extra interest created by the news of Lauren's special edition!
