Colouring Book Raises Over £300 For Myton Hospice

Senior School Charity

One of our Lower Sixth tutor groups has raised over £300 for Myton Hospice via sales of a Bablake Colouring Book.

Miss Jayne Simmons (Physics, and Head of Wheatley) and her tutor group arranged Bablake's first 'Charity Colouring Book', after gathering artwork submitted by staff and pupils for the project.

The success of the initiative has been most pleasing, as Miss Simmons commented: "We thought we might raise around £100, but it looks like the publication may even need another print run from our Reprographics department, as we have sold over 100 copies! This is all tremendous news for our chosen charity, Myton Hospice."

All the sketches submitted by students were judged as part of a new House competition and those who were 'placed' as winner or runner up are highlighted in the final publication. Well done to Cameron Park (Bayley), Abinaya Muraleetharan (Bayley) and Shianne Whitmore-Beckett (Wheatley) who won the Senior, Intermediate and Junior competitions respectively and thank you to all those who submitted designs.

Later this month, we will feature another colouring book which has gained much local notice thanks to the artistry of our Home Economics technician Mrs Cathy Renken.
