Ben Makes It Five Out Of Five For Theology

Senior School Sixth Form

Many congratulations to Upper Sixth student Benedict Smith who has received an offer to read Theology at Selwyn College, University of Cambridge.

Ben will be the fifth Bablake student in a row to make a successful Oxbridge application for this degree (or PPE, which includes Philosophy) at either of the Oxbridge universities. He follows the path taken by Jennifer Maudsley, John Haidar, Millie Ross and Oliver Robinson (who joined us for the Sixth Form).

Head of Religious Studies Dr Toby Smith commented: "I am delighted for Ben. He is a ‘natural’ when it comes to Theology, and the admissions tutors evidently picked up on that in his interviews at Cambridge. I have every confidence that Ben will flourish in the rarefied academic atmosphere of Cambridge. They will benefit from having a student in their midst for whom theological concerns are far more than merely theoretical."

Our Upper Sixth students soon embark upon a rigorous programme of Mock examinations, keen to achieve the grades they need, either to meet their impressive university offers or attract the attention of key employers.
