Rainbow Cinderella Raises Over 1K For Harrismith Partnership

Senior School Harrismith

Bablake pupils and staff have a proven ability to produce outstanding evenings of music and drama in the name of charity and entertainment.

This knack was once again evident in the Bablake EDM last night for the performance of 'Rainbow Cinderella', directed by Mr Ian Appleby (former Head of English) and Mrs Helen Skilton (Head of History).

The evening began with a presentation on Bablake's partnership with Harrismith Secondary School in South Africa; this explained how the two schools had come to work together and what this excellent link means to both parties.

After this, the party truly began and every moment of the musical, written around the well-known Cinderella fairytale, delighted the audience. It was a true visual feast, with stunning performances from all lead actors and supporting cast members.

We are certain that well in excess of £1k will have been raised for Harrismith and we look forward to reporting in greater detail later this year how the money will be spent when Mrs Skilton leads another group of Bablake pupils to South Africa in July.

'Rainbow Cinderella' was the perfect tonic for everyone at the end of another exhausting few weeks.  Half Term is now here and we wish everyone a fantastic break.
