A Great Season For Our Girls

Senior School Sport

Today's glorious Spring sunshine may not be accurately reflective of the wintry conditions our sports stars have faced over the last two terms. On the pitches and courts though, our girls have excelled whatever the conditions faced.

Mrs Jade Russell, Head of Girls' PE reports further:

"Congratulations to our U12 Netballers! It was a great season for both A and B teams, finished off with a double win at the Coventry Schools tournament - an achievement amplified by the fact that a total of 19 teams competed for the trophies.

At U13 level, our B team retained the Coventry Schools competition trophy, while the A team once again had a tough tournament and had to settle as runners up, when just pipped to the title in the final by KHVIII.

Meanwhile at the annual Dominique Matthews tournament, our Seniors finished their netball season off positively, with the U18A team returning as winners and the B team as runners up.

With such success on the courts, the pressure could have been too much for our U14 and U15 Hockey XIs in the Coventry Trophy. Our 'team of the season', the unbeaten U14s finished in style, retaining the trophy with an 8-0 victory over KHVIII.

The U15s had a similar mind-set, finishing 4-0 winners over KHVIII, while our U13s had an unbeaten run to the Warwickshire 7-a-side final where they met King's High and despite losing 1-0, still qualified for the regional final at Cannock, where they reached the Quarter Final stages.

Congratulations to each of our teams! They have all done us proud this season."
