'Four'-Midable Rajen

Senior School Chess

A record-breaking run was recently extended in the annual Rowlands Cup competition.

Lower Sixth student Rajen Parekh won the Rowlands Cup for the fourth year running, putting aside his disappointment a week earlier at not extending his impressive three year hold on the Coventry Schools Lightning Chess trophy.

Beating 'wild card' Harry Bowser in the final of the Rowlands Cup, Rajen will now be aiming for a record-breaking '5 in a row' next year, when he will also hope to equal England international and former pupil Paul Lam's four Lightning Chess titles.
