Another Runner To Be Proud Of

Senior School Athletics

Lower Sixth form student Olivia Kelly has been training for the summer's athletics season and also racing competitively.

As well as recently achieving a personal best at 3000m that was 36 seconds faster than her previous best and well inside the ESAA entry standard of 10.18.00 for Senior Girls, she followed this with being first West Midlands finisher (including Hereford and Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire as well as our county) in the U17 Girls Virgin Money London Mini Marathon last Sunday.

As well as excelling on the track, Olivia is also starring in the classroom as she applied successfully for a competition organised by the University of Warwick to participate in a trip for aspiring young women in science to the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble. We look forward to hearing more about that visit later this summer.
