Pupils and parents were treated to a 'Disney-tastic' evening, as they attended the much anticipated 'Magic of Music' extravaganza on Friday evening.
Lower Sixth pupil Enya Bowe organised and produced the magical concert to raise money for Harrismith School (Bablake's partner school in South Africa) with help from other members of the Sixth Form and Bablake staff.
The evening included incredible solo performances, the chamber choir, lots of dance, musical interludes and even a few numbers from our very own Bablake teachers! It was a fun-filled evening which left the audience dancing in their seats and with big smiles on their faces.
Mrs H Skilton, who manages the partnership with Harrismith School, commented,
‘What a fantastic evening: I am always amazed by the breadth of talent amongst our pupils and their willingness to give up their time to help others. The money raised will help pay for three Harrismith learners to visit Bablake next autumn and we will continue to contribute to Harrismith ICT provision, uniforms and drama. A special thank you to Enya Bowe who organised the concert, Emma Blackett, Lauren Cox, Mr Wyatt and the Music Department’.
The evening raised an incredible £1560 for Harrismith School. Well done and thank you to all involved!
