Lunch with the Lord Mayor for Bablake Junior School Pupils

Junior School Charity

Ten Bablake Junior School pupils were invited to have lunch with the Lord Mayor this week in recognition of their superb fundraising for local charity, Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

The children raised almost £2,000 for Zoe’s Place through a variety of charity events. They planned two cake sales and a non-uniform day, both of which were a resounding success – with queues for cakes filling the playground! Pupils were also asked to fill a Zoe’s Place ‘Paws for Thought’ card with £1 coins, which were awarded to them on completion of a good deed at home. The children who met the Lord Mayor were amongst those who made an extraordinary effort to raise as much money as possible, with some raising an amazing £100 through completing their good deeds.

Miss Shorter, Bablake Junior Charity Co-ordinator, said;

"We had a lovely time meeting the Lord Mayor at Coventry Council House. Zoe’s Place is a charity close to our hearts at Bablake and we are very proud to have raised so much for such a fantastic cause. The children had an unforgettable time meeting the Lord Mayor, who not only provided us with a delicious lunch but also gave us a tour of the Guild Hall and The Council House!"

Well done to everyone at the Junior School and Pre Prep for their fantastic fundraising efforts.

Bablake Junior School pupils enjoy a tour of Coventry Council House with the Lord Mayor.
