A Celebration of Music at Bablake

Senior School Music

During the last weeks of the Summer term, our Music department and pupils have put on a wonderful array of musical performances.

The annual Summer Concert featured some superb musical moments from pupils across the school and was a fitting tribute to Director of Music, Mr T Crompton, who sadly leaves us at the end of the term as he relocates to a school in the South West. We wish him all the best in his next adventure.

Following on from the Summer Concert, we were treated to recitals from Sixth Form pupils Enya and Anna. During her recital, which was arranged to raise money for SKIP (Peru), Music scholar Enya was accompanied by Mr Crompton and treated the audience to a truly beautiful recital. The following week fellow scholar Anna, accompanied by Jo Clarke on the piano, delivered her recital. It was a super example of Bablake's best: exquisite music, a supportive audience of family, friends and teachers and successful fundraising for charity Pro Corda. Well done to both Enya and Anna.

Our musicians and the Music department also supported the annual Senior Citizens Summer Party, keeping our visitors thoroughly entertained throughout the afternoon with some excellent performances.

Thank you to the Music department and to all of our fantastic musicians for all their efforts over the last few weeks and the whole course of the year. You are an absolute credit to the school and bring immense joy to all those who attend your performances.
