New Headmaster - Mr Andrew Wright

Senior School Junior School

We are delighted to announce that Mr Andrew Wright has been appointed Headmaster at Bablake.

Since John Watson’s departure the end of the Spring Term 2019, Andrew Wright has been acting head here at Bablake and Governors have been very impressed with the contribution that he has made. It is evident that the vision that Andrew is beginning to implement will ensure that Bablake maintains not only its excellent academic achievements but also its outstanding pastoral and co-curricular provision, enabling the development of well-rounded young adults ready to take their place in today’s world.

Before appointing Andrew, Governors undertook a rigorous and robust process, which included contributions from members of the Bablake staff, Parent Governors and other members of the Governing Body.  The decision to appoint Mr Wright was unanimous and has been well received by pupils and members of staff.

Born and bred in the Midlands, Mr Wright is an experienced and highly respected leader and teacher of mathematics, with both academic and pastoral experience from the independent and maintained sectors. He has the absolute confidence of Governors and staff to lead and develop the School, with the support of an experienced senior leadership team.

Andrew Wright: “Bablake is a fantastic school and one which I am very proud to lead. We fully intend to continue to deliver an exceptional education within a thriving and caring community, while embracing new challenges and opportunities. We are ambitious not only for our own pupils but also for education in the city of Coventry.”
