Author Visits (2)- Ann Evans and Karen King

Archive Archive

Our second author visit at the end of term, arranged by Mrs Julie Needham (Head Librarian), was a double act: Ann Evans and Karen King. During the morning both authors led workshops on creative writing and becoming an author, before then speaking to our whole 2nd year in the afternoon.

Ann Evans is a local Coventry author, who last visited Bablake 3 years ago, and among other works has written 'The Beast' trilogy and the illustrated 'Children's History of Coventry'. Her most recent book is 'Celeste', a time slip thriller set in modern day and medieval Coventry.

Karen King, a new visitor to Bablake, has been writing children's books since the mid-80s and has also written for many children's magazines. Some of her short stories and poems have been featured on the BBC and, while she has also written for all ages and in all genres, she is currently best known as author of 'Perfect Summer'.
