Meeting The New Staff- (1) Miss Laura Watts (Girls' PE)

Some of the new staff who joined Bablake in 2013-14 have completed the traditional set of probing questions posed by our Wheatleyan reporters. This time, the questions have been set by Editor Becky Williamson, Deputy Editor Connor Putnam and aspiring journalist Hayley Smith.

Miss Laura Watts, who was appointed to the full-time staff during the Spring term following completion of two periods of cover for illness and maternity, was the first to return her answers.

The interview began, as always, with the quick questions!

Where did you go to school?
Bishop Ullathorne, in Coventry.

Where did you go to university?
Birmingham.

What was the most useful thing that you learnt throughout your education?
To set yourself regular achievable goals.

Please tell us briefly about your role at Bablake?
I was appointed to cover Mrs Webley's maternity leave and have now been appointed full-time to teach girls' PE.

Are you involved with any co-curricular activities?
Yes! Clubs and team practices for athletics, hockey, netball, rounders and trampolining.

What's the most rebellious thing you have ever done... that you can tell us about?!
I cannot think of an answer for this one!

What is your favourite hobby?
Playing and watching sport.

What is your favourite type of music?
Dance.

Where in the world would you love to go?
Italy!

If you had one superpower, what would it be?
I have one! I can read minds!

And finally do you have any hidden talents, a party piece maybe…?
Apart from my sporting prowess, I'm afraid not!

We should add that Miss Watts was too modest to mention that she used to play 1st team football for Birmingham City Ladies as goalkeeper.
