Intrepid Geographers Enjoy Their A Level Field Trip

Sixth Form Geography

While some of our young Geographers enjoy the 2015 Geographical Association Worldwide Challenge Weekend, it is worth recalling that at the end of last month, our L6th Geography pupils set off for the traditional field trip in Wales.

Head of Department Mr Simon Enstone explains further:

'23 intrepid geographers along with myself, Mr Preet Chahal and Mrs Jo MacGibbon headed for our annual pilgrimage to North Wales. For a change, the weather looked set fair and unusually there was not a sign of rain during the three day stay.

Pupils began by studying flooding in a local town and observing downstream changes of a mountain stream, while the highlight of the trip, as always, was a day spent in the stunning glaciated terrain in the shadow of Mount Snowdon. We were even treated to an air display from a pair of tornado jets flying down the Nant Ffrancon Valley.

Once again, the pupils were a credit to the school and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the topics they had studied in the classroom brought to life in the field.'
