Mr Richard Sewell, Head of Economics and Business Studies, took a group of eager 4th year pupils to the dynamic and fast-moving Stock Market Challenge, which was kindly hosted by Coventry University.

The team of Georgia Clarke, Matthias De Veer, Elliot Forbes, Connor Putnam and Keisha Simms performed admirably and Matthias deserves especial praise since he secured a prize as 'Best Media Analyst' for his critical and pertinent evaluation of the media report in each round.

Mr Sewell commented: 'The team had to work together to buy and sell shares in businesses, with the aim of having the highest share value at the end of the exercise. It was a great opportunity to use a variety of skills, such as teamwork, communication, time management, analysis and decision-making. The day gave excellent insight into the real stock market and was thoroughly enjoyed by the pupils.'
