Drama

Drama is key to the development of every child as a whole.

Drama is taught to all year groups, every term as it is regarded as integral to supporting children to communicate with a range of audiences in later life. Drama enables children to develop their confidence, spoken language skills and group work. We encourage our pupils to put themselves out of their comfort zone and have a go at speaking and performing in front of others.

Pupils are already learning to express themselves and their ideas with increasing clarity through the study of English language and literature. This feeds into their Drama lessons which encourage everyone to develop their imagination further.

Drama provides an outside of the classroom environment and an opportunity for all children to achieve. The Bablake Theatre is used from Year 3 as the children put on a Nativity and perform in front of the whole school as well as their parents. Children then spend the next three years developing their skills in the subject until their final leavers performance in Year 6.

Pupils throughout the school are very keen to learn and clearly enjoy what they do in lessons and other activities.
