How do I know whether Bablake will suit my child?
We recommend visiting the School to talk to staff and pupils, and get a feel for what makes Bablake so special. We hold a range of open events throughout the year.
Our friendly Admissions team can also arrange a personal tour. Please contact them on 024 7627 1248 and they will be happy to arrange a visit at a time convenient to you.
How do I find out about place availability at Bablake?
Contact our friendly Admissions team on 024 7627 1248 who will be happy to talk through what places we currently have available.
What are the fees?
Fee information is available here.
Are there costly extras such as uniform and sports kits?
We try hard to keep the cost of our uniform low. The compulsory elements of our uniform should be bought from the School Shop, Number 57 Schoolwear. Other parts of the uniform can be bought from our shop or any other retail outlet. For more information on school uniform click here.
The Parents’ Association regularly hold secondhand uniform sales which are a great way of saving money when replacing school uniform.
Are clubs and activities included in the school fees?
Yes. There is no charge for the vast majority of clubs and activities. For example, your child could attend sports training, rock climbing, music rehearsals and academic subject ‘clinics’ at no extra cost. Individual music tuition and the Duke of Edinburgh Award are additional charges on top of the fees.
What scholarships and bursaries are available?
Scholarships are based on academic performance whereas a bursary is means-tested and based on financial need.
We offer Academic, Music and Art Scholarships at 11+/Year 7 entry.
Academic, Music and Sports scholarships are available for Sixth Form entry. These are open to both current students and applications from outside Bablake.
For more information visit our scholarships and bursaries page.
Will my child have to pass an exam to get in to Bablake?

We strive to ensure a fair and consistent policy to all applicants.
My child has additional needs, is any allowance made for the entrance exam?
Please inform our Admissions team if your child has a special educational need or disability. Children with a special educational need or disability will be considered for access arrangements in the entrance examinations. Any access arrangements granted will be based on the pupil’s normal way of working in their current educational environment, for which evidence will be required.

Is there a sibling discount?
The Foundation awards a sibling discount if you have three or more children in Foundation Schools. If a pupil is in receipt of a bursary award that pupil will not receive the sibling discount. The award is 3% per child for three pupils, 4% per child for four pupils, etc.
