BBC Broadcaster Returns to Inspire Pupils

Bablake was honoured to welcome back esteemed BBC journalist and broadcaster Martine Croxall for an inspirational afternoon with our pupils. A proud alumna of the school, Martine returned to share her experiences from a distinguished career at the forefront of global news.
Speaking to an engaged audience, Martine offered a candid account of life as a journalist. She reflected on the emotional demands of reporting major world events, including the challenges of covering distressing stories, as well as the unexpected lighter moments that come with live broadcasting. Her anecdotes provided a rare and personal glimpse into the world of television journalism.
Pupils were given the opportunity to ask questions, which Martine answered with humour and honesty. The lively discussion ranged from the pressures of breaking news to the skills needed to succeed in the media industry.
The visit proved to be an invaluable experience, particularly for pupils with aspirations in journalism, broadcasting and media. Martine’s words offered both inspiration and practical insight.
