U6th Students Look Forward To Life Beyond Bablake

Sixth Form Senior School

After weeks of expectation, our U6th finally received its grades earlier today and for the vast majority, there was much celebration and confirmation of gaining the grades necessary to accept a firm or insurance offer place.

Tomorrow we will feature a few of the success stories from the year group, but for now we have some facts to celebrate:

  • The overall pass rate is 99.7%.

  • 75.3% of all grades are A*, A or B.

  • 44.4% of all grades are A* or A. (National average 25.9%)

  • 17.8% of all grades are A*s. (National average 8.2%)

  • 8 pupils gained 3 or more A* grades.

Asked for his comments, Headmaster Mr John Watson said: ‘We are immensely proud of all that our students achieve, with the inspiration, support and care of their dedicated teachers. Hard work has again been rewarded, and they can embark on the next stage of their lives with the natural confidence and generosity that stem from an ambitious, all-round education.’

Head of Careers Mr Mark Woodward added: ‘Every student in our Class of 2008 has the potential to make an impact at university, work and beyond. I look forward to hearing more about their exciting journeys over the next few years.’
