Young Photographer Covers Former Pupils' Lincoln Reunion

Senior School Old Wheatleyans

Promising young photographer Mollie O'Sullivan was at hand to capture the action at our recent 'Lincoln' Reunion.

Former pupils who were evacuated from Bablake and Coventry to Lincoln during World War II's air strikes on Coventry and other parts of the UK gathered at Bablake almost 70 years later for a reunion.

Mollie, who is beginning her final year of GCSE studies, was keen to document the morning as part of her Silver Duke of Edinburgh award 'Skills' project. She commented: 'I was asked to take some photographs to help out and I actually really enjoyed it! It was very good experience and gave me more confidence in my photography.'

Mr Mark Woodward (Head of Careers), who is working with Mollie and a few other pupils on this skill, commented: 'This was Mollie's first major assignment and I am delighted with the results. Her photographs, which will soon be on Bablake's expansive social media network, are excellent and really do tell the story of the morning from start to finish. I am privileged to work with a number of our students on magazine projects in our Sixth Form and, if Mollie's interest stays with photography, she will be a fine addition to my emerging paparazzi pack!'

Mrs Sylvia O'Sullivan (Alumni Relations Officer) reviewed the successful morning saying; 'It is always a pleasure welcoming back this generation of Former Pupils; they most definitely have a story or two to tell about their years here at Bablake, and it is fascinating to see their reaction to the new facilities and changes to our site.'

More of Mollie's photographs from the morning will be posted soon.
