U11 Girls' Football Team Are Coventry Champions!

Junior School Junior School Sport

This week the Bablake Junior School U11 girls' football team made history as the first girls' football team to win a trophy for the school.

The girls competed in the Coventry School's Indoor Tournament and after getting through the first round were excited to head to the finals with their coach (and Headmaster!), Mr Price. Having worked hard training in countless lunchtime practices, the girls set off to the final confident in their ability and rightly so, as they came away tournament winners.

Mr Price was supremely proud of the team:

'Everyone played with great skill and determination. Our plan to win by stopping the other team scoring paid off handsomely. Over the competition the girls played ten games, lost none and kept a clean sheet in every single match! As with many things this showed that a strong foundation can be a good route to success.'

Well done to Sophie, Daisy, Ella, Ellie, Shaan, Krista and Sola for their part in this historic win.

The U11 girls' football team celebrate winning the tournament!
