Two Rising Stars!

Senior School Sport

Two Bablake athletes have recently been given the honour to represent England in their respective sports.

Dan Mousley was selected for the England Young Lions (U19s) cricket earlier this month. He’ll be competing as part of the 18-strong team taking part in the UK and India winter training camps 2018. This is so thoroughly deserved and we wish Dan every success!

Emma Allroggen has just been selected for the England U16 hockey squad after training camps at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. Not only is she highly skilled, but her physical fitness is a key strength. It is no surprise she also came 28th in the National Schools cross country, whilst representing the West Midlands.

Both of these young Bablake athletes have had to work hard and show strong commitment to achieve the high level of play in these sports. When asked about the best advice they’ve received they both referred to enjoying the game but always trusting in your own ability.

Dan’s ambition is to play professional cricket for Warwickshire and England and it’s no surprise to find his sports hero is none other than Andrew Flintoff, a match winner.

Emma’s also got her sights set high and hopes to play for England and Great Britain in the Olympics and other World Championships. Her sports hero is Lilly Owsley, a fitting role model, who played her first senior international at a very early age and is now a more experienced player on the England team.

Many Congratulations to you both and best wishes as you embark on this amazing adventure!
