Double Win for Junior School Girls Cross Country

Bablake Junior School – Winners of the Coventry Schools Girls Cross Country Championships 2019

Last Saturday over thirty Bablake girls took part in the annual Coventry Schools Girls Cross Country Championships. The weather was kind and everyone ran with great determination.

The A Team ran first with Anthonia and Imogen leading the Bablake charge and their efforts helped the team into the gold medal position. Imogen came home 2nd with Anthonia close behind in 3rd. There were over 200 girls and 34 schools in the race and the Team result also saw Orianna, Megan, Lily and Maisie putting in excellent performances to secure the victory.

The B Team race was next and once again the girls ran superbly. Fleur led the team home in 2nd place with Khadijah and Serena not far behind in 6th and 7th place with 170 runners taking part. Excellent performances from the rest of the team saw us once again securing the top spot ahead of 23 other schools.

This was a fine effort from all the Bablake runners and a proud moment for the many parents who shared the pleasure of being there. Well done everyone!
