Chemistry Olympiad Awards

Senior School Junior School

We want to applaud the nine Upper Sixth pupils who bravely put themselves forward to sit the Royal Society of Chemistry's UK Chemistry Olympiad paper - all of whom attained an award!

They had to answer some of the hardest questions that their teachers had ever seen, as well as going through the novel process of being invigilated via a video link. It was also an unusually successful undertaking, as every single candidate attained an award, which is almost unheard of. Dominic gets a special mention for his Gold award and the top mark in the school.

The nine pupils and their awards are listed here:

  • Dominic - Gold
  • Freya - Silver
  • Mila - Silver
  • Georgia - Silver
  • Jonathan - Silver
  • Harry - Silver
  • Charlotte - Bronze
  • Crystal - Bronze
  • Jhodi - Bronze

The UK Chemistry Olmpiad is designed to challenge and inspire. It is the leading chemistry competition for students in secondary education across the British Isles. This enriching experience was a unique opportunity for our pupils to push themselves further and excel in the chemistry field.

By participating, our pupils will have developed critical problem-solving skills, learned to think more creatively and had the chance to test their knowledge in new, real-world situations.

Well done to everyone for participating and achieving great success!

Dr P Knight, Head of Chemistry
