Oxbridge Success

Sixth Form Oxbridge

We are delighted to announce that five Bablake pupils have secured Oxbridge offers. This is a superb achievement as places become more competitive at Oxford and Cambridge universities each year.

Erin and Emily have received offers to Queens College, Cambridge (Mathematics for Erin and Veterinary Medicine for Emily). Lara has received an offer for Jesus College, Cambridge to study English Literature. Sadie has received an offer for Hertford College, Oxford to study French and Spanish. Elizabeth has received an offer for Keble College, Oxford to read Biology.

Andrew Wright, Headmaster said “I am delighted for them; the offers are well deserved. Those receiving offers come from a wide range of backgrounds and have performed exceptionally well. They are fantastic ambassadors to what hard work can achieve and are also superb role models for the rest of the school. Some will be the first in their family to attend university and their success is also testament to the support they have received from our Sixth Form team and Careers Department. Our Sixth Form curriculum has played its part in preparing all of our students, 30% of whom receive financial support to attend school, for making successful applications to top universities. Last year, over half of all A level grades awarded were at A* or A, highlighting Bablake’s position as one of the leading schools in the Midlands for academic achievement”.
