Additional Uniform Guidance

Art, Food & Textiles – aprons are provided.

Design Technology – aprons are provided. Pupils must wear shoes which protect the upper foot; pupils whose shoes are low cut must bring trainers to wear.

Jewellery is not permitted, but pupils with pierced ears may wear small stud earrings – one in each ear lobe maximum.

Shoes must be plain black, sensible in design and with a flat/low heel. No trainers to be worn as school shoes.

Hair should be appropriate for a formal business-like environment. No extremes of fashion, colours or styles (e.g. tram lines or patterns). Long hair should be tied back when Health and Safety requires it. Bablake has pledged to follow the Halo Code so that all pupils can wear their hair in accordance with their race, ethnicity and cultural identity, while also adhering to our standards of a business-like appearance.

Facial Hair should be appropriate for a formal business-like environment i.e. neatly trimmed. If this is not possible due to cultural or religious reasons, parents should email the Head of Year.

Makeup – no false eye lashes, no false nails and only clear nail varnish is allowed. Shells and Year 8 no makeup. Years 9, 10 and 11 may wear discreet mascara and concealer for blemishes.

Badges – only school badges can be worn in school, with the exception of poppies for Remembrance.
