Former 1st XI Captain Is Cricketer Of The Year

Old Wheatleyans Sports

While a good number of our senior cricket scholars (Dan Mousley, Ross Parnell and Dan Smith) are making excellent progress at county level with Warwickshire CCC, today we congratulate our former 1st XI captain and cricket scholar Mark Best on being named the Birmingham League's 2014 Cricketer of the Year.

Currently studying at Loughborough University, and aLoughborough MCCU regular, Mark's performances as 1st XI opening bat for Berkswell CC gained the especial notice of the Birmingham League in their end of season awards.

Indeed, Mark had a superb debut season for Berkswell CC where he became the Saturday 1st XI’s top run scorer, accumulating 781 runs at an average of 48.81, making five fifties and three centuries.
