Bablake Students Defy Superstition with Friday 13th Charity Sleepout for Coventry Foodbank

Despite the superstitions surrounding Friday the 13th, Bablake Upper Sixth students took to their sleeping bags within the Bablake's grounds and hosted a sleepout to raise funds for the Coventry Foodbank.

Supporting an essential cause, the Coventry Foodbank currently operates 14 satellite centres, and reaches out to approximately 600 individuals weekly in the Coventry region. This aid is extended to pensioners, those in financial distress, and individuals confronting domestic crisis situations.

Undeterred by the cold or the date! ten Upper Sixth students enjoyed a dry evening of games, songs, and toasted marshmallows, even managing to catch a few hours of sleep.

Reflecting on their previous endeavours, last year's charity sleepout by Bablake students raised an impressive £670. This year with the backing of family, friends, and the larger Bablake community, they have so far raised over £800 and still rising. A huge well done to all!

The school's Harvest Food Collection will also be given to the Coventry Foodbank, highlighting the importance of community support during challenging times.
