Visitors From Partner School Harrismith Arrive In Coventry

On Friday we welcomed the four visitors from Harrismith Secondary, our South African partnership school, who were profiled in this summer’s copy of The Lion.

Mrs Zithobile Mphuthi and Mr McDonald Khanye are here to represent the teaching staff, while Busi Nkomo and Sifizele Mbatha are Harrismith’s pupil ambassadors.

Mrs Helen Skilton, our link co-ordinator, commented: ‘I am delighted that Bablake has the opportunity to repay the hospitality we received from Harrismith Secondary School in July 2013, and am extremely grateful to members of the Bablake community for their support of this visit, which has been funded through their donations.

We have a packed schedule of events to look forward to over the next two weeks, including visits to Warwick Castle, Bosworth, Oxford, Birmingham and London. Pupils and staff will also be attending a variety of lessons and sharing their language and culture with Bablake. I am sure that there will be plenty to report over the next two weeks!’
