Around The World In 80 Books

An exciting collaboration between our English and Geography departments has been launched.

Bablake's English and Geography departments invite pupils from all year groups to participate in a reading and writing experience: ‘Around the World in 80 Books’.

Pupils may choose to read from a selection of 80 books based in different countries from all over the world and/ or write a short story of not more than 1000 words based somewhere in the world. Those who enter the writing competition may have the chance to see their work featured on our website, printed in The Wheatleyan or win a prize.

Reading three books from three different continents will see pupils gain the ‘Explorer Award’, while reading six books from six continents will see them gain the ‘Traveller Award’.

Pupils are asked to consult their English or Geography Teacher for more details.
