The Pursuit of Excellence
The purpose of Bablake School is to provide an excellent and stimulating education for boys and girls, by developing character, intellect and physical well-being within a happy, scholarly and caring community.
The focus now is making sure that we develop these areas within and outside lessons.

Be Responsible
Responsibility is taking charge of your learning; setting priorities, understanding how you learn and making use of support. It also means having self-respect and respect for others involved in the learning process.
Be Bold
Boldness is the willingness to take risks and not be afraid of failure, recognising that learning is a journey that is characterised by both success and frustration.
Be Resourceful
Resourcefulness is the inner strength that helps you make progress and overcome difficulties, be prepared to learn independently and take advantage of the support and facilities that are available to you.
Be Curious
Curiosity is having a hungry mind: engaging in lessons, listening actively, asking questions, pursuing knowledge, making connections and seeking out new intellectual experiences. It means taking learning beyond the classroom.
Be Creative
Creativity is making connections and approaching problems in new ways, using your knowledge to explain how one feature links to another; thinking ‘outside the box’ – can I solve this in a different way, can I express this in a different way? It is working with other people to develop fresh solutions and new ideas.
