Bablake Pupils Everywhere- (3) Derek Littlewood - Games Designer, Developer and Consultant

Yesterday's news item referenced a blog post about achieving your goals as a writer. Today, in featuring former pupil Derek Littlewood, a Bablake graduate from 1997, we offer links to excellent advice on how to become a games designer and land a games design job, dream careers for a fair number of our current pupils.

University of Nottingham graduate Derek, founder of Eggbox Interactive, is a freelance game designer, developer and consultant with 14 years of commercial development experience. With credits including the award-winning game 'The Snowman and The Snowdog' and the BAFTA-nominated 'TimeSplitters 2' and 'Second Sight', Derek is perfectly placed to be able to offer advice to emerging and aspiring game designers.

Derek, an experienced Unity3D developer with practical development experience of numerous mobile and console platforms including iOS, Android, Mac OSX, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360, also recommends Nottingham's National Videogame Arcade as a great place for education about gaming since it not only has interesting educational exhibits, but also regularly runs workshops for people to learn coding, in the context of game development.
