Excellent Rotary Win For Sam

Congratulations to Sam Lowe, who was declared joint winner (with Chloe Chung) of the Rotary Young Musicians competition held at Bablake last month.

Sam now proceeds to the district final, which will be held at Warwick School in February 2015, and he hopes his alto saxophone performance will be strong enough to take him to the national final which is due to be held, in May, in Darwen, Lancashire.

This year's event saw a record number of entrants and produced an extremely high standard of performance, in front of an appreciative audience, and organiser, Mr Peter Isherwood of Coventry Phoenix Rotary Club, commented: 'I was delighted with the quality of the entrants and encourage even more young Coventry musicians to enter next year, as it is a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their talents.'
