Young Bablake Team Enjoys Geographical Association Worldwise Challenge

Senior School Geography

Over the weekend, three of Bablake's enthusiastic young geographers not only enjoyed the Geographical Association Worldwide Challenge competition held at Malham Tarn Field Studies Centre, but also brought some welcome silverware back to Bablake!

Geography teacher Miss Rebecca Priest, who accompanied the group with her Head of Department Mr Simon Enstone reports: 'Everyone had a fantastic weekend and we competed against nine other schools from around the country. On Saturday, we explored the area around Malham Cove completing innovative and exciting fieldwork activities. The group then had the evening to create a presentation to present to the judging panel on Sunday morning.

Our team, which consisted of 4th year pupil Matthew Merricks and 3rd years Max Harrison and George Parker, was complimented on its enthusiastic approach to the whole weekend by the Geographical Association staff. As well as this, we were delighted that Max Harrison came away winning the individual fieldwork prize.'

Many congratulations to Max and the team, and thank you to the staff who accompanied the pupils.
